WE'RE PATROLLING HOTSPOT AREAS

#VisibleLocalTrusted | As the warm and dry weather continues, local officers are carrying out regular patrols in areas identified as being at higher risk of grass fires across the #CannockChase district. 

We are working closely alongside our colleagues at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, carrying out joint patrols and engaging with local communities to help reduce the risk of fires and keep people safe. We are also continuing to liaise with landowners and key stakeholders to identify potential risks and ensure preventative measures are in place where possible.

Grass fires can spread quickly, causing significant damage to wildlife, open spaces, property and the environment. We would ask everyone to play their part by:

✅ Disposing of cigarettes responsibly

✅ Avoiding the use of disposable barbecues in open countryside areas

✅ Taking litter home, particularly glass bottles which can pose a fire risk

✅ Reporting any signs of fire immediately by calling 999
